Invisalign

Invisalign is a new system of straightening teeth without the use of conventional braces. A series of clear plastic aligners are utilized to create tooth movement. Moving teeth with removable aligners is not new. However, the computer program, which can generate a series of aligners with small changes is the new part. Invisalign is recommended for orthodontic situations with mild to moderate spacing or crowding. They are virtually undetectable, easy to use and comfortable to wear.

Clear Braces at Lifetime Smiles

At Lifetime Smiles, we are committed to providing our patients with exceptional orthodontic care at highly-affordable prices. Our Invisalign braces process starts with a consultation at our Glendale, AZ office. During your consultation, Dr. Delavari will sit down to speak with you about your individual orthodontic goals and determine if you are a candidate for the Invisalign procedure. The appointment can take about 30 minutes. When you are ready to begin treatment, intra-oral pictures and X-rays of your teeth will be taken by our experienced orthodontic team.

Dr. Delavari will evaluate your dental records and collaborate with Invisalign to create a customized treatment plan for you. Invisalign Technology laboratory will then create a ClinCheck®, or a virtual model, of the treatment plan.

Once this complete, we will call to schedule another appointment. During this appointment, Dr. Delavari will have the virtual model of your teeth on hand and discuss the details of your treatment. This appointment usually lasts about 30 minutes, and once you have approved the proposed treatment plan, we will place the order and Invisalign will create your custom aligners.

The smooth, comfortable, BPA-free plastic aligners will usually be delivered to our office within 10 days of approval. When we receive the trays, we will call you to schedule an appointment. When you receive your aligners, you will need to be seen by Dr. Delavari every 2-8 weeks for new aligners and an evaluation of the treatment’s progress.

How Invisalign Works

Unlike traditional braces, which use metal brackets and wires to straighten teeth by means of gradual adjustment, Invisalign use clear plastic aligners to slowly move the teeth into place over time. Both systems are gradual, but Invisalign are far more comfortable and virtually unnoticeable — unlike traditional braces, which are not only noticeable but can also be uncomfortable. Plus, Invisalign can be removed for eating and oral care.

The Final Step: A Totally-Transformed Smile

The last step of the process, of course, is to reveal your new, beautiful smile. For teens, Invisalign can take anywhere from a year to a few years, while most adults can achieve straight teeth within a year. It is imperative that you follow the treatment process so you can have a straight smile as soon as possible. For the best results, only remove your aligners to eat, floss, and brush your teeth.
